Afghan Women Project
Once you tackle this first project, the others won't seem as complex. First things first: in the blue "Loyalty & Betrayal" button, there is a folder entitled "Afghan Women Project." Inside this are links to each of the four parts. Second, you will not submit any pieces of the project until you have completed all four parts; once you're done, then you will be able to upload and submit all the necessary pieces to the assignment submission link. Now, let's look at some helpful tips and tricks for each part:
Part 1: You need to read and analyze three poems: "For Women of Afghanistan,” “The Plight of the Afghan Women," and "Afghanistan Bleeds." . You can access these by clicking on the "Afghan Women Project" folder in the blue "Loyalty & Betrayal" button. After reading these poems, complete this worksheet.
Part 2: Listen to one of the poems. Then listen to it again. Again, use the links in the project folder to access the recordings. After listening to one of the poems, complete this worksheet.
Part 3: Write your own poem. It should be a response to the poems you read. It could express anger, frustration, sadness, confusion, or any other emotion you may have experienced after reading the poems. Try to include poetic elements and convey a specific mood. It should probably be at least 15-20 lines. Remember to save it as Rich Text Format.
Part 4: Record your poem. If you need more help with how to complete a recording, click here.
Once you're done with all four parts, you are ready to submit all your work to the Afghan Women Project assignment link. To see how your work will be graded, view the rubric.
